The Radio Mercury Awards, the sole competition dedicated to recognizing excellence in radio and audio creative work, has officially opened its call for entries for 2025. Celebrating its 34th year, the competition is set to introduce an array of new categories reflecting the evolving landscape of radio and audio media.
This year's competition expands with several innovative categories, including "Single Streaming Spot," "Streaming Campaign," and "Single Spot Airing on a Podcast." These additions aim to embrace the growing influence of digital platforms in the radio sector. Other new categories such as "Use of Directing in a Single Broadcast Radio Spot" and "Innovative Use of Broadcast Radio or Digital Audio" highlight the creative advancements in traditional and digital radio formats.
Guided by chief judge Chad Broude, co-founder and co-chief creative officer of Highdive Advertising, the selection of categories was also influenced by the Radio Mercury Awards advisory council and the RAB's Board of Directors. The competition remains a pivotal event for industry professionals to showcase their creativity and innovation.
Entry submissions will close on April 1, with finalists to be announced in early May. The winners will be revealed at a live event scheduled for June 5 at SONY Hall in New York City. For more details on entry guidelines, categories, fees, and sponsorship opportunities, participants are encouraged to visit the official Radio Mercury Awards website.
