ESPN veteran Mike Greenberg announced he will be leaving radio broadcasting, a medium he has been part of since 1991. The announcement came during his national midday show, "Greeny," on Monday. Greenberg expressed his deep affection for radio and hinted at a possible return in the future.
"While my schedule has become too demanding to continue, I am not closing the door on radio entirely. I started in radio in 1991 and have spent nearly all my career in it. I am certain I will return because it's a wonderful medium and my first love," Greenberg shared on X.
Greenberg first gained significant recognition in 2000 alongside former NFL player Mike Golic on the popular show "Mike and Mike in the Morning," which continued until 2017. The program was also simulcast on ESPN2 starting in 2006 and became a staple of ESPN radio.
Despite stepping back from radio, Greenberg will maintain his television roles and remain a familiar presence on ESPN.
