Longtime KVI/Seattle host John Carlson revealed his retirement from radio, setting his final broadcast for April 4. Carlson, a staple in conservative talk radio since 1993, expressed his joy in hosting "The Commute with Carlson," particularly highlighting the fun he's had in recent years.

"Since the summer of '93, I'm probably having more fun (now) than ever before," said Carlson, reflecting on his decades at America's first all-conservative talk station. "And yet despite all that, I am announcing this morning that I will be stepping away from this microphone and retiring from radio this April."

Carlson reassured his audience that his family is doing well and hinted at an exciting new opportunity that prompted his decision. "In just the past few weeks, I have received an astonishing opportunity that I cannot pass up. And for the next couple of days, cannot tell you about," he explained.

Listeners are encouraged to tune in to his show on April 14 at 8:04am PT, where Carlson plans to unveil his future endeavors.

On Facebook, Carlson echoed his sentiments, expressing gratitude towards his colleagues, the station's influence, and listeners who've been part of his journey, even those who may not have always agreed with his perspectives. "It has been rewarding, fun, and a great way to interact with so many people over a surprisingly long time," he posted.
