Wondery has launched a new true crime miniseries, "Don't Cross Kat," hosted by Brazilian journalist Chico Felitti. The series, which debuts on Wondery+ today and will be available on other podcast platforms from March 31, is inspired by the popular Brazilian podcast "A Coach." It traces the unsettling journey of a woman searching for her friend who has vanished under the spell of an online guru.

"Don't Cross Kat" explores the menacing impact of online personas on real lives. The podcast centers around Kat Torres, a wealthy and glamorous influencer known for her controversial posts on witchcraft and "alien baths." As Torres gains followers, the hidden dangers of her influence begin to surface. The series escalates when a woman, trying to rescue her friend from Kat's grip, moves to Texas and finds herself directly confronting the influencer.

Felitti, known for his incisive journalism and narrative prowess, first exposed Kat Torres' deceptive practices in Brazil. His podcast "A Mulher da Casa Abondonada" is the most successful narrative podcast in Latin America, amassing five million downloads per episode. A two-time Jabuti Prize finalist, Felitti brings a compelling mix of investigative journalism and dramatic storytelling to the miniseries.

"This story is about more than a disappearance-it's about the complexities of human relationships and the power of the internet to both connect and divide us," Felitti said. "I'm thrilled to bring this gripping tale to a global audience with Wondery."

The podcast joins Wondery's collection of shows that spotlight the darker aspects of human behavior and the influence of the internet, such as "Fed Up," "Scamfluencers," and "Scam Factory."
