Radio Milwaukee announced the promotion of four key leaders, aimed at boosting its commitment to innovative programming and community-centric storytelling. This move reflects a strategic alignment with the evolving cultural landscape of Milwaukee and the diverse listener base of its multimedia platforms, HYFIN and AAA WYMS-FM (88Nine).
Jordan Lee steps up as the new Executive Director of Radio Milwaukee. With a history of over 15 years at the organization, Lee has been instrumental in launching HYFIN and spearheading major initiatives. "I'm incredibly honored to step into the role of executive director at Radio Milwaukee," said Lee. "This moment is not just about my promotion but about the collective growth of a team that reflects the vibrant diversity of our city."
Tarik Moody has been elevated from his previous role to Director of Strategy and Innovation, where he will focus on expanding creative initiatives and fostering forward-thinking programming that mirrors the city's rich musical and cultural diversity. Moody's promotion comes after an 18-year tenure with the organization, during which he played a pivotal role in the development and launch of HYFIN.
Element Everest-Blanks is now the Program Director of HYFIN, a platform designed to amplify Black voices and promote Black music and culture. Everest-Blanks, a recognized figure in the city's arts scene, will also continue her dual role as a show host and a district advocate for the Recording Academy.
Kenny Perez has been appointed as the Program Director of 88Nine, bringing his extensive experience in music discovery to the forefront. Perez will maintain his presence on air, hosting multiple shows across both HYFIN and 88Nine, ensuring that the platforms remain dynamic and inclusive spaces for music lovers.
Al Orr, the chair of Radio Milwaukee's board, emphasized the significance of these promotions, stating, "These promotions represent the strength and stability of Radio Milwaukee's leadership, as well as our dedication to reflecting the diversity and pride of our city. Jordan, Tarik, Element, and Kenny are not just leaders within our organization. They are innovators who understand and embody the voices of our community and the arts and culture within our city."
