Audacy has enhanced the broadcast coverage of its San Francisco outlets -- KLLC-FM (Alice @ 97.3) and KITS-FM (ALT 105.3) -- with the deployment of MaxxCasting technology, adding over 800,000 potential listeners across the Bay Area.

The implementation uses seven strategically placed MaxxCasting nodes to strengthen signal reach and clarity, particularly in key high-growth areas such as San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, and Milpitas. This marks the first deployment of MaxxCasting nodes in the South Bay.

"Having witnessed meaningful success with MaxxCasting on our Padres affiliate in San Diego and seeing other stations activate successful deployments in San Francisco, we were inspired to move forward with this technology here," said John Kennedy, SVP of Technical Operations at Audacy. "We're excited to enhance our reach in San Francisco, providing clearer, more consistent service to over 800,000 new listeners."

Originally established in the San Francisco market by Bonneville International, MaxxCasting uses a series of low-power nodes to fill gaps in coverage and eliminate weak signal zones, especially in dense urban environments.

GeoBroadcast Solutions, the company behind the technology, welcomed Audacy's move. "We're honored to see the value of MaxxCasting being readily embraced by Audacy and other broadcast leaders," said a GBS spokesperson. "The adoption of our technology in so many markets shows its versatility and effectiveness in enhancing radio coverage. We look forward to supporting future deployments and are excited by the momentum building across the country."

Audacy's expansion of MaxxCasting reflects a broader trend among broadcasters seeking to improve signal quality and expand reach in competitive markets. The company previously deployed the technology with success in San Diego and is now leveraging that experience to strengthen its Bay Area footprint.
