The Broadcasters Foundation of America has launched its annual Year-End Giving Campaign, encouraging tax-deductible personal and corporate donations to support broadcasters facing financial hardship due to illness or disaster. BFOA is the only national organization exclusively devoted to helping broadcasters in need. Over the past two decades, the Foundation has distributed more than $15 million in aid to radio and television professionals.
"Our grants offer a 'hand-up' to colleagues during trying times," said Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation. "Monthly and emergency grants are often the only financial resource for our colleagues in need, and the funding for those grants depends entirely on donations from within broadcasting. Our 100% Give with Confidence score from Charity Navigator ensures contributions go directly to those in our business who need it most."
Scott Herman, Chairman of the Broadcasters Foundation, added, "Support from broadcast groups and related companies is critical to sustaining our mission. Whether it's a monthly grant or one-time emergency aid, the Broadcasters Foundation is often the only financial safety net for our peers in the TV and radio industry."
