Triton Digital has introduced a new Podcast Metrics Industry Feature Set designed to give publishers a broader view of how their shows perform relative to the wider podcasting market.
The new tools expand Triton's existing Podcast Metrics offering by adding access to industry-level benchmarks, market share analysis, and audience composition insights across the top 20 podcast markets worldwide, as well as a global view. Until now, publishers using Podcast Metrics could only see data tied to their own programs.
According to the company, the Industry Feature Set aggregates data from all Triton-measured podcast publishers, allowing users to compare growth, audience behavior, and market position against overall industry trends.
The feature set includes three primary components. The Download Benchmark enables publishers to compare episode and show consumption against the broader market by country or genre, with performance measured across next-day, seven-day, and 30-day release windows. Market Share tools allow publishers to track their share of the total Triton-measured podcast market over time, with filters for device family, genre, and player. The Composition feature provides insight into listening behaviors and audience makeup, helping publishers compare their audiences to market norms and identify potential growth opportunities.
Daryl Battaglia, senior vice president of measurement at Triton Digital, said the new features are intended to help publishers better understand their position within the broader podcast ecosystem and more clearly communicate their value.
BBC Studios participated as a proof-of-concept partner during development, providing early feedback on functionality and market needs. BBC Studios said the new tools enhance its ability to evaluate podcast performance across global markets and listening behaviors.
Triton Digital said the Industry Feature Set is aimed at helping publishers gain deeper competitive context, improve audience understanding, and support strategic decision-making across markets and categories.
