The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has named Bert Goldman and Harvey Arnold as the recipients of its 2026 Engineering Achievement Awards, recognizing their contributions to radio and television engineering. They will be honored during the We Are Broadcasters Awards Ceremony on the Main Stage at the 2026 NAB Show on April 21 in Las Vegas.

Goldman, owner and president of Goldman Engineering Management, will receive the Radio Engineering Achievement Award. The honor recognizes more than five decades of work in broadcast engineering, including expertise in AM and FM spectrum analysis, station construction and regulatory compliance. Over the course of his career, Goldman has worked on upgrades in most of the top 25 U.S. markets and has overseen the design and construction of more than 50 radio outlets.

Goldman previously served as corporate vice president of engineering for the ABC/Disney Radio Division, Nationwide Communications, Patterson Broadcasting and Shamrock Broadcasting. He has also been active in industry organizations including the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society, the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers, the Society of Broadcast Engineers, the NAB National Radio Systems Committee and the NAB Radio Technical Committee.

Arnold, senior vice president of engineering for Sinclair Broadcast Group, will receive the Television Engineering Achievement Award for his role in advancing broadcast technology. Since joining Sinclair in 1998, Arnold has led transmission engineering operations across the company's television stations and has helped guide the industry's transition to ATSC 3.0.

He has also worked with NAB and other industry partners on development of the Broadcast Positioning System (BPS), coordinating field testing at Sinclair ATSC 3.0 stations and promoting the technology's potential applications.

The NAB Engineering Achievement Awards have been presented annually since 1959, recognizing outstanding accomplishments in broadcast engineering, with separate honors for radio and television established in 1991.
