Veteran Pittsburgh radio programmer Kenny Woods has announced he will retire on April 30, concluding a career that has spanned nearly five decades.

Woods began his radio career in 1978 with early roles at stations in Pennsylvania, including WKST-AM in New Castle, WGRP-FM in Greenville, WBCW-AM in Jeannette and WVSC-FM in Somerset. He went on to hold programming leadership positions during the 1980s as Program Director and Operations Manager at WVAQ-FM in Morgantown, WV.

In the 1990s, Woods worked in Pittsburgh at WYDD/WNRJ-FM before joining WWSW-FM (3WS), where he served as Music Director and on-air host.

For more than two decades, Woods has been part of Salem Media Group's Pittsburgh operations, most recently as morning host, Assistant Program Director and Music Director for WORD-FM and WPIT-AM. He originally joined the stations as Operations Manager in December 2001.

Woods' retirement marks the end of a long tenure in the Pittsburgh market and a career that included programming, on-air and management roles across multiple stations.
