Saga Communications has promoted John Hakim to General Manager of its Charleston, SC, operations, succeeding Paul O'Malley. Hakim moves into the role after serving as Director of Sales for the Charleston cluster for the past five years. Before joining Saga, he held positions with Cox Media Group in Jacksonville.

O'Malley recently was elevated to Senior Vice President of Revenue Development for Saga. He will continue to support revenue initiatives across the company while assisting with the leadership transition in Charleston.

"John has earned the trust and respect of our world-class team through his leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to our clients and colleagues," O'Malley said. "Over the past five years, he has demonstrated the vision, work ethic, and ability to inspire others that define outstanding leaders."

Saga COO Wayne Leland said the promotion reflects the company's commitment to developing leadership from within the organization.

"He understands our culture, our communities, and the evolving needs of our clients," Leland said. "John has played a significant role in Charleston's success, and we are confident his leadership will position the operation for continued growth and innovation."
