Access1 Closes on Sale of WWRL to NJ Broadcasting


Access1 Communications Corp. has closed on its previously announced sale of 5kW WWRL-AM (1600)/New York to NJ Broadcasting LLC for $7 million. NJ Broadcasting is owned by Dr. Nimisha Shukla and has operated the station under an Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) since February 1. WWRL provides programming for the large South Asian Community located throughout the Tri-State Area.

Dr. Shukla, a Pediatric Physician, who also owns, 7 Days Pediatrics, located in Edison, NJ, is now able to fulfill a long term desire to provide a voice to the South Asian Community through a premium broadcast media platform on a 24/7 basis.

George Reed and Tom McKinley, Media Services Group, represented the seller in the transaction.
