Townsquare Media has suffered a second cyberattack. The ALPHV ransomware group says it gained unauthorized access to 251 gigabytes of the company's data, including files from its servers and workstations. The ransomware specifically targeted files created within the past year, according to The Cyber Express. ALPHV is demanding that Townsquare make contact with it in the next week to prevent release of the stolen data.
The ransomware attack is the second intrusion of the company's computer servers following an April, 2019 incident involving "crypto locker encryption malware," disrupting some of the Townsquare's station operations.
The severity of the data breach was highlighted by including 19 attachments in the threat actor's post, shared on Twitter.
As previously reported earlier this week, a cyberattack left several four Santa Rosa, CA stations owned by Amaturo Sonoma Media Group unable to broadcast last week.
