Greater Media ups WMJX-FM (Magic 106.7) Boston afternoon personality and Assistant Program Director Candy O'Terry to morning duties from 5:30-10am with Mike Addams, effective March 7. O'Terry, who joined WMJX in 1990 as a secretary to the Program Director, worked her way up the ranks to become the APD and afternoon co-host with Dan Justin. In her new role co-hosting mornings, she'll relinquish APD and afternoon duties.
"I think I had a dream about this when I first got started in radio and now it's coming true," said O'Terry. "I'm so grateful to Peter Smyth and Greater Media for growing me over the last 22 years and to Rob Williams and Cadillac for recognizing my on-air talent. Co-hosting morning drive on the station I love with a legend like Mike Addams? That's the icing on the cake."
"Candy has played an instrumental role in Magic's success over the years, and she has worked hard to earn this much deserved opportunity," said Director of Programming Cadillac Jack. "Both through the genuine connections she has made with our listeners, and her natural ability to be a premiere ambassador for the radio station, I know Candy's deep passion for the Magic brand will continue to benefit us greatly in mornings with Mike Adams."
O'Terry will continue to be heard on Sunday mornings from 6-10am as host of the station's award winning program, "Exceptional Women."
