Jay Rio Joins Boom 92/Houston for Afternoons

Jay Rio is appointed afternoon host and Production Director at Radio One's Classic Hip-Hop KROI-FM (Boom 92)/Houston. He's inbound from PM Drive and Imaging Director duties at co-owned Rhythmic CHR WHHH-FM (Hot 96.3) in Indianapolis. Previously, Rio worked in afternoons for Rhythmic CHR WGBT-FM (94.5 The Beat) in Greensboro, and before that, mornings for KAZE-FM and KBLZ-FM/Tyler, TX.

Rio said on his Facebook page, "After 14 years of being away, I'm back in #HTOWN, God's plan has brought me back to the place where I was raised." He's a 1993 graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in radio and television.
