Mike Kasper to Join 670 KBOI Boise ID Morning Show

After his retirement with over 51 years of broadcasting, Paul J Schneider returned to 670 KBOI this morning to announce Mike Kasper will joining Chris Walton for mornings. The new "Kasper and Chris" show will air from 5-10am weekday mornings and officially starts Monday, January 14.

"I'm so excited and honored to be joining an iconic station like KBOI and I'm honored to be following in the footsteps of a legendary personality like Paul J Schneider.", says Kasper. "I finally get the chance to work in a news-talk format where, for the first time in my career, I'll be able to talk with listeners to discuss current events, news, sports, politics and issues that affect our state and the Treasure Valley."

"Captain" Mike Kasper started his Treasure Valley broadcasting career in 1989 hosting the morning show at KF-95. Other Boise station stops include "Magic 93-1" and Mix.

Kasper has earned quite a few awards over 30 years including: 8 time winner of Idaho Statesman's "Best of the Treasure Valley" for Best Morning Show, 3 time winner of Boise Weekly's "Best of Boise" for Best Radio Personality, and 3 time winner of Idaho State Broadcasting Association's award for Best Morning Show Personality.

NewsTalk 670 General Manager Don Morin said, "KBOI was overwhelmed with the number of qualified applicants and talent wanting to be part of our team. Through hundreds of applications, Mike's presence in the Treasure Valley is part of what made him one of the best candidates for the position. I look forward to 670 KBOI moving into a new era."

Kasper has helped raise awareness and hundreds of thousands of dollars for causes like Idaho Foodbank's Backpack Buddy program, which has raised over a quarter of a million dollars since 2012, the Christmas Elves program that provides toys to the kids who are at St Luke's Children's Hospital at Christmas time every year and many other various charitable programs, such as American Legion baseball, Toys for Tots and Idaho Shares.
