Previously, he handled afternoons on Urban AC WIKS-FM (101.9 Kiss)/Greenville-New Bern, NC. Before that, Starks was a parttime air personality News/Talk WVON-AM/Chicago. Prior to joining WVON, Starks worked at crosstown then Clear Channel's Urban WGCI-FM.
