Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM in Chicago taps Jaybeau Jones to host 7-midnight through Radio Resources' "Personality On Demand." The move marks a return to Chicago for Jones, who previously programmed Jammin' Oldies WUBT and CHR WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM).
Jones, a 38-year programming veteran, has an extensive radio background, having served as Program Director at stations such as Oldies WODS-FM and Hot AC WBMX-FM (Mix 98-5) in Boston. He also led programming efforts at WXLO-FM and WWFX-FM in Worcester and previously programmed WKSS-FM (Kiss 95.7) in Hartford.
Cumulus VP of Classic Hits and WLS-FM Program Director Todd Cavanah praised Jones' experience and familiarity with the market. "Jaybeau's knowledge of our city, his on-air delivery, and his experience with the Classic Hits titles that we play make him the perfect fit," Cavanah said.
Jones expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, calling it a long-held aspiration. "To say the iconic call letters 'WLS' is literally a childhood dream come true," he said. "Todd Cavanah has brilliantly created a brand that owns up to those legendary call letters, and I'm honored to be a part of 94.7 WLS. My thanks to Todd, Cumulus Chief Content Officer Brian Philips, and RVP/Market Manager Marv Nyren."
Radio Resources Chief Development Officer Rich O'Brien also welcomed the move, emphasizing the strength of the "Personality On Demand" model. "We are thrilled that Cumulus and 94.7 WLS see the value of our 'Personality On Demand' service by adding an A-List talent like Jaybeau!" O'Brien said.
