WXTU-FM/Philadelphia Program Director Bob McKay will exit the Beasley Country outlet after almost ten years on April 10 to open the doors on a programming consultancy. WXTU will become his first client. Leo Baldwin, who serves as PD of co-owned Rhythmic CHR WRDW-FM (Wired 96.5), adds WXTU programming duties. Prior to joining WXTU in February, 2000, McKay programmed WKIS-FM/Miami.
"After several heartfelt meetings with Bruce and me, Bob feels the time is now to begin this new chapter in his career," said VP/Market Manager Natalie Conner in an internal staff memo.
Regarding Baldwin, Conner commented, "His dedication and expertise have allowed Wired to navigate successfully in a very competitive PPM world and I know that Leo will take that same Wired energy and creativity to all aspects of 'XTU."
McKay was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame last month in Nashville.
