Entercom/Indianapolis VP/MM Phil Hoover to Retire

Entercom/Indianapolis VP/Market Manager Phil Hoover has announced his retirement after nine years with the company and 45 years in the radio industry. Hoover first joined Entercom in 2000 as VP/Market Manager for its Wilkes-Barre/Scranton cluster. He then served as VP/MM of the company's group in New Orleans (2001-2005) before his current position since December, 2005.

Entercom President/CEO David Field noted, "Phil has done an extraordinary job for Entercom in several markets and while most recently responsible for leading our Indianapolis cluster, we will always remember Phil's leadership of Entercom New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Under Phil's leadership our Entercom team in New Orleans provided award-winning and life-saving coverage of the storm and its devastating aftermath on the Crescent City."

Hoover added, "Radio is People; people who listen, who advertise and who creatively bring us the magic that is Radio today. It is the people who have made these years glorious and rewarding. On the eve of the 4th Anniversary following Hurricane Katrina, I again acknowledge Entercom Communications for their commitment to the people of New Orleans. I am most honored and proud to have been known as a "broadcaster."

Prior to joining Entercom, Hoover served as President/General Manager for Saga Communications in Iowa and Illinois. He began his broadcasting career in 1964 with WCOL-AM & FM/Columbus, OH. While serving with Entercom and with Saga, Hoover was named a Top 5 General Manager for 1993, 1998, 2002 and 2005.
