Arbitron has signed a deal with social music television network, Akoo, to deliver audience estimates. This service will provide Akoo with estimates to demonstrate the reach and frequency of its network to advertisers. Akoo can be found in social out-of-home environments, including shopping malls and universities.
"Our mission is evangelizing social music television and making it the most valuable interactive out-of-home advertising category," said Akoo CEO Niko Drakoulis. "Marrying audience estimates with consumer insights will provide our advertisers with the necessary accountability metrics and redefine the opportunity for brands to connect with consumers through branded entertainment."
"One of the barriers to large-scale media buys in place-based media has been the lack of standardized metrics," said Executive VP/Cross-Platform Services Pierre Bouvard. "Advertisers require quantifiable estimates to have confidence in placing their media buys. Today's consumer is always on the move and their media exposure continues throughout the day. Capturing exposure to advertising throughout retail environments provides advertisers and media buyers with a more complete view of their targeted audiences."
