Legendary New York Personality Ron Lundy Dies

Legendary New York air Personality Ron Lundy has died after a long bout with lung cancer. He was 75. Lundy, could be heard in New York from 1965 until 1997. He began his radio career in Memphis before moving to WIL/St. Louis. His next stop would be Top 40 powerhouse WABC-AM/New York in 1965, where he would become known for the line, "Hello, love, this is Ron Lundy from the greatest city in the world."
Following WABC's flip to Talk in 1982, Lundy resurfaced at crosstown WCBS-FM, remaining there until he retired in 1997 and relocated to Mississippi.
His wife, Shirley Lundy, told the New York Daily News, "We're so thankful for all his friends in New York." Former WABC and WCBS colleague Bruce "Cousin Brucie" Morrow said, "Ron's one of the class acts in radio."
