ESPN Radio/Detroit Names Mark Wilson as OM/PD

Birach Broadcasting's Sports WCAR-FM (ESPN Radio 1090) Detroit appoints veteran radio and television air personality Mark Wilson as Operations Manager and Program Director, effective immediately. He'll also handle nights from 7-10pm. Wilson returns to the Motor City following a stint in Las Vegas. He is a multiple winner of the Michigan Best Sportscast Award by the Associated Press and Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

"We already have two of the most talented personalities in the history of Detroit sports radio," said Wilson. "Damon 'The Dog' Perry has a proven track record locally and nationally; he's wild! Art Regner is known far and wide as the Red Wings hockey guru on top of being one of the most outspoken voices in Michigan sports talk."

Perry is the solo host of the 3-5pm program while Regner teams with former NHL goaltender Eddie Mio on "The Drive at 5" slot. They've been hosting those shows the past few months.

"Eddie spent 11 years in the NHL with the Wings, Oilers and Rangers. He's best buds with the great Wayne Gretzky and was best man at Gretzky's wedding," added Wilson. "You'd never know Eddie hadn't done this before."

Wilson previously worked for WDFN-AM (1130 The Fan) in mornings with current ESPN personality Rob Parker. "The Parker and The Man Show" moved to CBS' WKRK-FM in 1999 and when 97.1 added the Red Wings and Tigers, Parker and Wilson took the show to Radio One's WCHB-AM 1200 where it lasted until the summer of 2008.
