CBS Sports Radio 1580 will make its debut on WNEW-AM/Washington, DC, on January 28, featuring the programming of CBS Sports Radio. Personalities including Tiki Barber, John Feinstein, Jim Rome, Doug Gottlieb and Scott Ferrall, among others, will deliver breaking news, sports updates, live interviews with major sports figures and on-site coverage from sporting events. CBS Sports Radio 1580 will also feature play-by-play coverage of the NFL and NCAA sports.
CBS Sports Radio 1580's launch coincides with the Super Bowl, as the network provides nearly 75 hours of access, live from New Orleans, in anticipation of the CBS-TV's broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, February 3. Listeners can hear the station at 1580AM, www.cbsdc.com or via the Radio.com app for a variety of mobile devices.
In addition to CBS Sports Radio's national sports coverage, CBS Radio's 106.7 The Fan/Washington provides a local all-sports format with the Sports Junkies in the morning, midday hosts Holden Kushner and Danny Rourier, afternoon hosts Lavar Arrington and Chad Dukes, plus Overtime, a nightly recap of the night's sports action featuring a rotating roster of local hosts. 106.7 The Fan is also the play-by-play home for the Washington Nationals, Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards.
CBS Radio Senior VP/Market Manager Steve Swenson said, "We are proud to offer area sports fans an All-Star lineup that caters to their local and national sports interests. 106.7 The Fan knows DC sports like no one else, and CBS Sports is a clear leader when it comes to breaking down the day's headlines and stories breaking across the country. As a result of this impressive combination of stations, there's no argument we will be the dominant sports voice in the city."
