WBBQ's Jodi Koontz CMNH Personality of the Year

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit that raises funds for 170 children's hospitals across North America, recently named 104.3 WBBQ/Augusta as the English Radio Station of The Year. Also honored was Jodi Koontz, of the station's "Murphy Sam & Jodi" morning show, who was named National Radio Personality of The Year. WBBQ and Koontz received their honors on October 9, 2013 at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' annual Celebration, an event that awards health innovators and exceptional fundraising efforts across North America.

Clear Channel Augusta supported Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through its 12th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon. WBBQ, along with the Augusta cluster of five radio stations, raised a record-breaking $239,000 -- the highest amount that the cluster has raised in the program's 12 years. In 2012, 37 Clear Channel markets raised nearly $6.4 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

"WBBQ is honored to be recognized as the English Radio Station of The Year," said Ivy Elam, Market President for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Augusta. "This award is a testament of the generosity of Augusta residents. Our listeners don't sit on the sidelines - they take action to support the critical mission of the Children's Hospital of Augusta and many other charitable initiatives. We are proud to connect our giving audience to the incredibly talented and dedicated individuals providing critical care to local children."
