Scott Shannon, co-host of "Scott & Todd in the Morning" on WPLJ-FM/New York, is retiring from WPLJ after 22 years at the station. "Scott & Todd" has been New York City's longest continuous running radio show. Todd Pettengill will continue as the host of "The Todd Show" during the same 6-10am drivetime slot. Longtime Executive Producer Joseph "Monk" Pardavila and news anchor Cooper Lawrence will continue on "The Todd Show" in their current roles.
"Of course I'll miss being a part of the morning show here on PLJ and I might even pop back in from time to time and try to get Todd to play a Rascals song or two," said Shannon.
"Scott and I had an amazing run and I'll miss our mornings together and cherish the memories we made. I'm also very excited about the opportunity ahead with a very talented group of people that I know our listeners are going to love," added Pettengill.
"Scott's contributions to the industry and the station are incalculable and we thank him for his many years of amazing service and dedication to his many morning listeners," said Cumulus Executive VP/co-COO John Dickey.
During his time at WPLJ, Shannon served as VP/Programming for the former Citadel assisting PDs at its major market stations with overall programming and content direction. He also served as PD of WPLJ-FM/New York until 2012, a position he had held since 1991. Shannon also programs the True Oldies Channel format.
