99.9 KEZ/Phoenix Begins Holiday Music Programming

KESZ-FM (99.9 KEZ today)/Phoenix launched its holiday music programming live during KSAZ-TV's FOX 10 AZ Mornings and on "The Beth and Friends Show" Thursday morning. Veteran morning host Beth McDonald (pictured) and FOX 10's Cory McCloskey kicked off the holiday music programming, playing Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." KEZ will play continuous Christmas music through the holidays and will again team up with FOX 10 to present the Valley's Holiday Music Soundtrack.

Since 1996 KEZ has been the Valley's Holiday Music Soundtrack, becoming Phoenix's holiday music station. Last year, according to Nielsen Audio's PPM results, 99.9 KEZ listenership approached 2 million people in the weeks leading up to Christmas. In addition to holiday music programming, 99.9 KEZ will host a number of events on and off air to celebrate the holiday season including Books and Toys for Girls and Boys benefitting Banner Children's, KEZ Presents Trans-Siberian Orchestra benefitting local charities, Phoenix Zoo's ZooLights and the APS City of Phoenix Electric Light Parade.

McDonald stated, "It's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas at 99.9 KEZ. I absolutely love Christmas music and look forward to kicking it off every year as we have been doing for over 18 years. And judging by the emails I'm receiving, our listeners love it too. There's no place like home for the holidays, which is 99.9 KEZ."
