Entercom Upstate promotes veteran radio executive and air personality Lee Rogers to News Director for News/Talk WYRD-FM (106.3 WORD)/Greenville, SC. Rogers will also direct news for the company's six-station cluster there with an increased emphasis on extensive local news coverage on 106.3 WORD. He'll continue as the morning news reporter for "The Tara Show" from 6-10am.
Rogers joined Entercom Upstate in 2007, and during his over 30 year radio career he has been an announcer, music director, program director, operations manager, general manager, account executive and news anchor.
"Lee brings a wealth of news experience and Upstate knowledge," said OM Mark Hendrix. "I look forward to Lee expanding 106.3 WORD's position as the Upstate's breaking news leader. Listeners will hear more proprietary content on the news that matters most to them."
"It's such a great opportunity and exciting challenge to take on the News Director role at 106.3 WORD," added Rogers. "As the Upstate's exclusive, live, local talk and news radio station, our listeners and advertisers expect a lot, and we are going to deliver. I look forward to expanding the news operation at 106.3 WORD to deliver even more local and breaking news."
