Sad to report that Joe Pasternak, host of the afternoon "Joe Show" on Classic Rock WLVQ-FM (QFM 96)/Columbus, OH, died unexpectedly on Friday, reports the Columbia Dispatch. He was 56. Pasternak had hosted PM drive on the Saga-owned station for 27 years and served as Assistant PD and Music Director. He was found dead in his Worthington-area home early Friday and it's not clear what caused his death.
General Manager Chris Forgy said, "It's been a tough day for us," Forgy said. "Joe was, without question, the acclaimed heart and soul of Q-FM."
Pasternak is survived by his wife and two adult children. Funeral arrangements are pending, Forgy said.
