Cumulus Appoints Cliff Smithers as WRQN/Toledo PD

Cumulus Media appoints Cliff Smithers as Program Director and morning personality for Classic Hits WRQN-FM/Toledo beginning August 8. This marks a homecoming for Smithers, who started his radio career at Cumulus Media/Toledo, where he was on-air for 21 years from 1989 through 2010, hosting shows on WTOD-AM, WRQN-FM and on WKKO-FM (K100). He's also worked on-air at WIOG-FM/Saginaw MI, WGRV-FM/Detroit and CBS Radio's WOMC-FM and WYCD-FM/Detroit.

Cumulus Media Toledo Operations Manager Bill Michaels said, "We are thrilled to have Cliff come on board as PD/Morning talent for WRQN. Cliff's market heritage, knowledge of the format and social media skills make him the perfect fit."
