WO Offers Programmatic Buying w/Katz' Expressway

Westwood One Spot Sales, the national spot platform for Cumulus Media, has announced its participation in Expressway from Katz -- a programmatic ad buying exchange for broadcast radio. Cumulus stations are offering full inventory access through Katz's programmatic exchange, powered by Jelli, providing automation to its advertising clients and brand partners. Eleven of Cumulus' top markets are live, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, St. Louis, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Detroit and Washington DC. All Cumulus markets are expected to be online by July.

Cumulus and Westwood One Senior VP/Sales Rafe D'Amico said, "America's prominent agencies and advertisers have clearly stated they want AM/FM radio to join the evolution towards programmatic. Expressway from Katz and programmatic are key elements of our strategy to serve our clients' needs. Cumulus/Westwood One is committed to improving how advertisers reach, engage, and influence target audiences."

"Programmatic buying is an exciting step forward for the radio industry," added Katz EVP/Business Operations and Chief Administrative Officer Joe Brewer. "Through Expressway from Katz, our radio partners now have the ability to offer their premium inventory to advertisers programmatically -- with automation, real-time monitoring, and reporting capabilities."
