Alliance Radio Networks announces that actress, producer and activist Salma Hayek is joining forces with syndicated Radio Hall-of-Famer Eddie "Piolin" Sotelo (El Show de Piolin) in a nationwide push for Congress to enact DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) legislation. In an interview Wednesday with Piolin, Hayek encouraged Latinos to unite and asked them to join her in calling Congressman Paul Ryan, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Piolin, one of the most widely recognized personalities in Hispanic Radio, agreed to partner with Hayek and promised her that he would encourage his millions of Hispanic American listeners and fans across the U.S. to make this call, too. Also, both Hayek and Piolin acknowledged the impact of using social media to support the Dreamers by posting videos and pictures with the campaign hashtag, #unitedfordreamers.

Hayek later stressed the importance of achieving this goal of unity among Latinos noting, "It is critically important to join together as one voice, in protesting this injustice. I am grateful to my good friend Piolin for being by my side in this important fight for our country. Piolin is a great inspiration to me and I thank him for encouraging me to continue this effort. Together, we can do much more."

Piolin concluded by encouraging his radio listeners, colleagues, and entertainment friends to join this campaign. He added, "Congress needs to act immediately to end this unfair treatment of hundreds of thousands of young people who grew up here and trusted our government not to deport them. Dreamers contribute to our country and communities in very real and substantive ways. They don't deserve to be taken away from the only country they've ever known."

Together, Hayek and Piolin encourage all concerned citizens to make their voices heard on this important and urgent issue by calling Speaker Paul Ryan at: 202-225-3031. Press "6" to leave a message for Speaker Ryan.
