WEZN-FM (Star 99.9)/Bridgeport morning personalities Anna and Raven developed the idea of "Trick or Treat Day" and now it will be debated in the Government Administration and Elections Committee on Monday, March 5 at 11am. It's known as Senate Bill 253. "Trick or Treat Day" was developed on the Star 99.9 morning show as a way to help teachers and parents tired of having Halloween festivities during the week. It would occur on the last Saturday of October every year, and would be designated as the day to collect and give out candy.

"We had a number of calls from parents who had to leave work early and teachers who had to deal with tired kids," said Anna. "We thought the best solution was to make sure the trick or treating always happens on the weekend."

Senator Bob Duff worked with the morning show to get the signatures needed to get this introduced in committee. Anna and Raven will attend the hearing and speak on behalf of the bill.

"This is not a replacement for Halloween," said Raven, "Halloween will still happen on October 31st. This is just an event to make life just a bit easier for all the parents and kids who spend October 31st rushing around and staying up a bit too late"
