Alpha Media/Louisville flips WGHL-FM to Alternative as "ALT 105.1." The station previously known as "G105.1 The Throwback Station," switched to ALT 105.1 on August 31st. Alpha Media Executive VP/Content Scott Mahalick said, "Alternative Rock is an explosive growth format and Alt 105.1 is a perfect fit in our group of stations in Louisville. Alt Louisville marks the return of contemporary Rock to Louisville on 105.1 FM."

Alpha Media, Louisville Senio VP/Market Manager Steve Bearance stated, "Alternative Rock is now in Louisville and I couldn't be more excited as we also strengthen our cluster with the ability to add throwbacks to our Urban AC, Magic 101.3."

"It's been too long since a true Alternative station was in Louisville serving its listeners. This move raises the level of all our brands and brings a sound that has been missing. I'm so excited for the NEW ALT 105.1," remarked Operations Manager Ben Davis.
