iHeartMedia's Classic Rock KZPS-FM (Lone Star 92.5)/Dallas personalities Bo Roberts and Jim White, hosts of "The Bo and Jim Show," will join the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. Roberts and White will officially be inducted on November 3, 2018 in Kilgore, TX. Richard Bowden, one half of the comedy duo Pinkard and Bowden, Warner Brothers recording artist and frequent guest of "The Bo and Jim Show," will induct the duo into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.
"Bo and Jim are true radio legends, but more than that, they are outstanding people," said iHeartMedia Dallas/Fort Worth Region President Kelly Kibler.
"Bo and Jim are two of the most respected and talented radio personalities in all of Texas," added Program Director Don Davis. "This honor is well deserved."
Roberts began his career at KCIR in Corsicana, TX and White began in 1968 at WJVA and WRBR in South Bend, IN. The two met in 1975 when they both worked at WRNO in New Orleans. In 1982, White was the night talent at KTXQ in Texas and persuaded management to hire Roberts for middays. Shortly after Roberts arrived to KTXQ, management replaced their morning show with Roberts and conducted a search for his partner. They decided to put the two together, and the rest is history.
The Bo and Jim Show has been a staple of morning radio in Dallas/Fort Worth for over 36 years. Roberts and White joined iHeartMedia's KZPS for the first time in 1998 until 2001. After three years apart working at various stations and networks, the pair regrouped and rejoined the station again in 2004 and have remained ever since.
"The long strange trip that it's been wouldn't have been near as much fun without Jimmy," said Roberts. "He's the yin to my yang. That didn't sound creepy at all, did it?"
"Since I was 12 years old, all I ever wanted to do was to be on the radio," added White. "It's an added plus to work with my best friend and the funniest and most creative guy I know, Bo Roberts."
