Carrasquillo Receives Lifetime Hispanic Achievers Award

iHeartMedia Orlando air personality Sandra Carrasquillo was honored with the Lifetime Hispanic Achiever's Award at the Hispanic Achievers Heritage Month celebration in Orlando for her significant contributions to the Central Florida Hispanic community. Carrasquillo is the morning co-host of the new W250CE-FM (Accion 97.9), network anchor of Spanish language newscasts on the statewide FNN Hispana service and host of the weekly statewide news and public affairs program Florida Exclusivo, which is heard on 24 radio stations throughout Florida.
"We are so incredibly proud of Sandra for receiving this achievement award," said iHeartMedia North Florida Region VP/GM of Hispanic Media Hector Marcano. "She has been a lifelong contributor to the Hispanic community."
Carrasquillo began her radio career in 1985 at Orlando's first Spanish station WONQ-AM as a traffic reporter, promotions talent, sales person and eventually an air personality. She's also worked as an air personality at Spanish talk WPRD/Orlando and has been with iHeartMedia Orlando since 2005.
In 2011, Carrasquillo received the Outstanding Leading Hispanic Woman award from Tu Revista Mujer (Your Women's Magazine). Other recognitions include the 2015 Ambassador Award for the Hispanic Woman Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Women that Make a Difference award from La Prensa newspaper.
The Hispanic Achievers Heritage Month celebration took place Saturday, September 29th at the Orlando Museum of Art.
