Cumulus has appointed Bruce Collins as Program Director for Dallas radio stations NewsTalk WBAP 820 AM/99.5 FM-HD2 and News & Information KLIF 570 AM/96.3 FM-HD2. Collins joins CUMULUS MEDIA from Alpha Media in Portland, OR, where he was Spoken Word Content Director and Operations Manager for FM News 101/101.1 KXL; Freedom 970/KUFO-FM; 750/102.9 The Game/KXTG; and the Radio Northwest Network.
Prior to that, Collins was Program Director of iHeartMedia's 1150 WJBO and 1210 The Score/WLRO in Baton Rouge, LA. He has also programmed stations in markets including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Columbus, Nashville and Oklahoma City for iHeartMedia/Clear Channel.
"After a nationwide search, Bruce Collins' history of winning in News/Talk in Portland made him the obvious choice to lead our talented team in Dallas," said Dan Bennett, Regional Vice President, Cumulus Media. "His perceptions and analysis of our brands convinced me he should be our next programming leader."
"I cannot thank Dan Bennett enough for the opportunity to program two heritage stations like WBAP and KLIF," said Collins. "I look forward to working with the entire Cumulus Dallas/Fort Worth staff and producing stimulating, thought provoking, informative, entertaining content each and every day."
