Atlanta media is mourning the loss of longtime radio personality and comedian Wanda Smith, who passed away recently. Smith was heard on WVEE (V-103), where she co-hosted the Frank and Wanda in the Morning alongside Frank Ski from 1998 to 2012. After a brief hiatus, she returned to the station in 2014, teaming up with Ryan Cameron for four years, and then reunited with Ski for another stint at V-103.

V-103 paid tribute to Smith in a post on Instagram, expressing their grief: "Our hearts are weighing heavier today as we grieve the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, someone who always made us smile and who was a big part of V-103 for years. We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family."

Beyond her radio career, Smith faced personal health challenges, including a 2017 surgery to remove an abscess from one of her ovaries. She was on her way to Mississippi when she first began experiencing pain, a reminder of her strength and resilience.

Smith was also dedicated to empowering young women through her organization, Girls Stand Together, which aims to help girls grow into confident and capable young women. V-103 noted that Smith's impact went beyond her humor, highlighting her efforts to uplift the Atlanta community and her work behind the scenes to support those in need. "Wanda's impact touched lives beyond making us laugh... Many times she championed efforts behind the scenes to make a difference in the lives of those who were without."
