The Charleston, SC community is mourning the loss of one veteran air personality and programmer Mike Edwards, who passed away recently. Edwards, was the Program Director at WMXZ-FM (Mix 95.9) and a pivotal part of the popular morning show, "Two Girls & a Guy."

Starting his radio career at the tender age of 14 in a small community station in Pocahontas County, WV, Edwards made a significant impact on the radio scene. In 1994, he moved to Charleston to become the Program Director of WSSX (95SX), and five years later, he joined forces with Brooke Ryan and Tanya Brown to form the "Two Girls & a Guy" Morning Show. The trio found great success and became a staple in many Charlestonians' daily routines, known for their lively discussions and engaging content.

In 2014, the team reunited on WMXZ-FM (Mix 95.9) and continued to capture the hearts of listeners across the Lowcountry, making "Two Girls and a Guy" a top-rated show. Edwards' contributions to local radio were recognized multiple times with "Charleston's Best Of" awards for both Radio Morning Show and Local Radio Personality.

Apart from his radio career, Edwards was a fervent supporter of local causes, including the Charleston Animal Society and Charleston Pride Week, demonstrating his deep connection to the community.

Charleston Radio Group President Paul O'Malley expressed the collective heartache of the community, stating, "Mike was an amazing person, beloved by his coworkers, listeners, and our entire organization. He will be truly missed by those fortunate enough to have crossed his path."
