SMG Announces Transfer of SMN to Christian FM Media

Salem Media Group has transferred the ownership of the Today's Christian Music (TCM) and Today's Worship Music (TWM) networks to Christian FM Media Group. The move, effective from February 1, ensures continuity in programming for all Salem Music affiliates despite the recent sale of Salem's Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) stations.

The acquisition by Christian FM Media Group promises a seamless transition for the music networks, with Jayme Summers, the former Program Director and Operations Manager at Salem Music Networks, retaining his role and joining Christian FM.

Salem's decision to partner with Christian FM was driven by a commitment to uphold the quality of programming for its affiliates. This transfer allows affiliates to continue offering CCM programming without interruption. Both TCM and TWM networks will maintain their distinct identities, while Christian FM's SmartRadio Suite affiliates will operate independently, preserving all market exclusivity agreements.

Salem President of Broadcast Media Allen Power addressed the transition, stating, "Our recent divestitures led to understandable uncertainty for our Music Network affiliates. Thanks to this partnership with Christian FM, we have been able to quickly provide those affiliates with a fairly seamless opportunity to maintain excellent CCM/Worship Music programming on their stations."

Jon Hamilton, President of Christian FM, expressed enthusiasm about the new responsibilities, emphasizing the future integration of advanced delivery technologies that will enhance music flexibility and personality options for the stations. "We are delighted to be able to carry the important legacy of the Salem Music Network into the future," Hamilton remarked, highlighting plans to augment station capabilities with unique custom content and new technological advancements.
