After a career spanning over four decades, Tom Sullivan has announced his departure from the daily rigors of radio broadcasting. Sullivan, a staple voice on iHeartMedia's NewsRadio KFBK in Sacramento, will air his final show on Friday, May 30, marking the end of an era for both the station and its audience.

Sullivan's broadcasting journey began in 1980 in Sacramento, where he initially brought his expertise in financial services to KFBK NewsRadio (93.1 FM & 1530 AM) through daily business news reports. His perspective on economic and financial issues quickly earned him the trust and respect of listeners, catapulting him into the broader arena of general talk radio. Encouraged by none other than Rush Limbaugh, then a local host at KFBK, Sullivan expanded his role, filling in for Limbaugh and others before taking his talents to New York in 2007.

While in New York, Sullivan not only continued his radio career but also became one of the pioneering broadcasters on the FOX Business Network Channel. His show reached a national audience through Fox Talk Radio and later, the Talk Media Network, with KFBK serving as the flagship station.

Throughout his career, Sullivan has been celebrated for his engaging discussions, grounded perspectives, and timely coverage of breaking news. His approachable style and authenticity have won him a loyal following both in Sacramento and across the nation.

Reflecting on his career and his decision, Sullivan shared, "I am going to hang up the microphone... not completely... this show will come to a screeching halt on May 30th. After that, I'm going to dabble in the world of podcasting... I feel fine, feel healthy, and want to go out on top. I've been doing radio for 45 years... how grateful I am for each and every one of you. It's time to move down the road and take the microphone from radio to podcast."

While Sullivan will be stepping away from daily broadcasting, his voice will not be silenced; he plans to continue connecting with his audience through a new podcast venture.

In the interim, KFBK NewsRadio will soon announce its plans for the time slot currently occupied by "The Tom Sullivan Show."
