The BIG3 has signed a major partnership with iHeartMedia that will make iHeartRadio the official audio home of the professional 3-on-3 basketball league. As part of the deal, BIG3 games will stream live on iHeartRadio starting with the league's eighth season, which tips off Saturday, June 14 in Chicago at Allstate Arena.
The season opener will air live at 4pm ET on CBS, with simultaneous audio coverage on iHeartRadio, followed by additional live games on VICE TV. Tickets for all season eight games are now on sale at BIG3.com.
The multi-platform collaboration aims to expand the league's reach across iHeartMedia's national network. The agreement includes marketing across broadcast radio, podcasts, streaming, digital, and social media, with a focus on key BIG3 cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Dallas.
BIG3 CEO Ice Cube said the partnership marks a new chapter for the league. "iHeart has the incredible capacity to reach hundreds of millions of potential BIG3 fans - their audience network is unparalleled," he said. "This partnership is the culmination of a years-long valued relationship and I could not be more pleased to be taking things to the next level this summer."
As part of the deal, iHeartMedia will feature its national logo on the jerseys of all eight newly established city-based BIG3 franchises and gain high-visibility branding on courts and in arenas. The partnership also includes featured appearances by BIG3 personalities on iHeart radio shows and podcasts, fan contests, VIP experiences, and giveaways.
"We are very excited about our new partnership with BIG3 and the opportunity to provide play-by-play coverage and promotional support," said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeart Digital Audio Group. "We look forward to bringing the passion and excitement of BIG3 to our listeners week after week."
BIG3 President Jeff Kwatinetz emphasized the potential to grow the league's fanbase through iHeart's streaming and podcasting capabilities, while iHeartMedia's Mike Biondo called the BIG3 "innovative, energetic, and culturally relevant," making it an ideal match for iHeart audiences.
