JVC Expands ''The Bone'' Across the Florida Panhandle

JVC Broadcasting is bringing its Fort Walton Beach Rocker WBON (92.1 The Bone) to Panama City, creating a simulcast with WYYX-FM (97.7). Beginning Friday, August 29 at 9am, the two frequencies will unite as 92.1 & 97.7 The Bone, delivering one of the largest consecutive Rock signals in Florida.

The format, described as a "wide variety rocker," spans six decades of music and promises deep cuts alongside rock staples. Listeners can expect thousands of songs, from classics to tracks rarely heard on the air, as well as contests and extended commercial-free blocks.

To celebrate the launch, The Bone will air ten days of commercial-free rock through Sunday, September 7. A new full on-air lineup debuts Monday, September 8, featuring Matt Stone with Wake and Bake Mornings (6-10am), Ski hosting the No Repeat Workday (10am-3pm), Mary Jo in the afternoon (3-7pm), Eddie RBG at night (7pm-midnight) and Roxy on the overnight 3rd Shift (midnight-6am).

JVC Broadcasting Owner John Caracciolo said the move reflects audience demand. "92.1 The Bone became a success because we listened to the listeners. They wanted more variety, fewer commercials, and a station that actually feels alive. Bringing The Bone to Panama City Beach wasn't just a business decision -- it was an answer to the audience."

Matt Stone, Director of Programming, added that the Fort Walton Beach model showed how rock radio can thrive when built for fans. "Listeners are more engaged, they're passionate, and they're telling us every day this is what they've been waiting for. We can't wait to share the Bone with Panama City and Southern Alabama."

Market Manager John Griffo noted that the brand's reach has grown far beyond its home market. "Since the launch in December our WBON-FM app has thousands of downloads all over the world. This isn't just another radio station; it's a movement and now, that movement covers Panama City Beach, too."
