Cumulus Media's CHR KKMG (98.9 Magic FM) has teamed up with Colorado Springs staple Josh & John's Ice Cream to debut a new limited-edition flavor inspired by Benson Boone's hit song "Mystical Magical." The flavor, called "98.9 Magical Mystical: Moonbeam Ice Cream," features a lemon cake base with blueberry swirl and white chocolate chips - designed to resemble the moon. The collaboration was inspired by Boone's viral lyric, "You can feel like Moonbeam ice cream."
The first scoops will be served at a special listener event on Thursday, September 5 at 4pm at Josh & John's downtown Colorado Springs shop. 98.9 Magic FM personalities will broadcast live, hand out Benson Boone concert tickets for his September 22 Ball Arena show in Denver, and distribute exclusive event merchandise. After the launch, Moonbeam Ice Cream will be available at all Josh & John's locations, but only while supplies last - which both partners expect will sell out by the end of the weekend.
The promotion also carries a charitable angle: $1 from every half-pint sold will benefit Peak Education, a local nonprofit that provides educational support and opportunities for Colorado Springs students.
"It's too perfect that Benson Boone has a song called 'Mystical Magical' and we're 98.9 Magic FM," said Jeff Haber, Program Director and afternoon host at Magic FM. "With the viral lyric surrounding Moonbeam Ice Cream, we wanted to collab with Josh & John's, a Colorado Springs institution, to bring Moonbeam Ice Cream to life."
Josh & John's operator Brandon Dale added, "This special collaboration highlights our shared passion for creativity and connection, offering a one-of-a-kind treat you won't want to miss."
