Radio Hall of Fame Announces 2025 Legends Inductees

The Museum of Broadcast Communications today announced eight posthumous "Legends" selections to the Radio Hall of Fame, honoring on-air talent, programmers, executives and innovators whose contributions helped shape the medium. They'll be inducted in a ceremony on Thursday, October 30.

The 2025 Legends inductees are:

  • Amos Brown - On-Air Personality
  • Richard Burden - Broadcast Engineer
  • Joanne Church - Research Executive
  • Jed The Fish - On-Air Personality
  • Irna Phillips - Scriptwriter, Producer and Programming Executive
  • Steve Smith - Programming Executive
  • Dale Sommers ("The Truckin' Bozo") - On-Air Personality
  • Don Wade - On-Air Personality

"It is with the utmost sense of pride that we bestow Hall of Fame induction upon the Legends of Radio who are gone but will never be forgotten," said Dennis Green, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame. "These iconic broadcasters made a lasting impact on the industry, and we honor them and their contributions to the rich history of radio."

"Each of these individuals contributed to the growth and vibrance of our radio industry and are worthy of induction," added Kraig Kitchin, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame. "I'm thrilled to see recognition for their talents and efforts and heartened that their family, friends and colleagues can witness this well-deserved honor."

The Radio Hall of Fame will celebrate the 2025 class at its induction ceremony on Thursday, October 30 at the Swissotel Chicago. Tickets are on sale now at radiohalloffame.com, with a portion of each purchase supporting the Museum of Broadcast Communications as a tax-deductible charitable donation.
