Nielsen DMA Data Added to Magellan AI

Nielsen has licensed its proprietary Designated Market Area (DMA) data to Magellan AI, enabling local-level podcast advertising measurement within the Magellan AI platform. The integration allows advertisers to measure podcast performance across Nielsen's 210 standardized U.S. DMA regions, a framework widely used in media planning and buying.

By incorporating DMA data into attribution reporting, advertisers can evaluate podcast effectiveness at the same geographic level used for traditional media such as linear radio and television.

The move aligns digital audio performance metrics with established geographic standards, allowing buyers and sellers to compare podcast campaigns alongside other media channels. Nielsen said the agreement supports broader industry efforts to standardize cross-platform measurement.

"Advertisers need a consistent way to evaluate the effectiveness of their media across every platform," said Rich Tunkel, Managing Director of Nielsen Audio. He said the addition of DMA data will improve comparability and transparency in podcast attribution.

Cameron Hendrix, CEO and Co-Founder of Magellan AI, said the integration enhances the company's measurement toolkit by giving clients the ability to assess campaign performance beyond national metrics and demonstrate podcast impact at the local market level.

The DMA-enabled attribution features are now available to Magellan AI customers through the platform's standard reporting dashboard.
