Red Apple Media has announced the launch of The Worldwide News Network, a new global audio news platform aimed at delivering real-time reporting to listeners in the U.S. and internationally.

The company has named Lee Harris as Vice President of News for WABC Radio and the new network. Harris, a 2024 inductee into the National Radio Hall of Fame, brings more than three decades of newsroom leadership and on-air experience to the role.

The Worldwide News Network is designed as a 24/7 audio service distributed across broadcast radio, streaming platforms, mobile apps, smart speakers, podcasts and syndication partners. Red Apple Media said the initiative expands WABC Radio's reach beyond its traditional footprint into a global, digital-first news operation.

Company owner John Catsimatidis said the platform leverages modern technology to deliver news instantly to audiences worldwide. President Chad Lopez added that the move reflects changing listener habits, with demand for immediate access to credible reporting regardless of location or time zone.

Harris previously spent 30 years as a morning newscaster at 1010 WINS in New York and has held roles in radio, television and international media consulting. His experience includes reporting during major events such as the September 11 attacks and advising broadcasters in Europe and Asia.

Red Apple Media said the Worldwide News Network will be developed as a full-scale international audio news service, positioning the company for expanded growth in global news distribution.
