mSpot Radio and its mobile phone radio network is teaming with Traffic.com to allow mSpot subscribers to receive a mobile optimized version of Traffic.com's live JamCast audio traffic reports in more than 30 cities. mSpot is implementing an ad-based model offered by Traffic.com and will receive a share of ad revenue in return for distribution.
"The structure of this deal is the right model for mSpot going forward, allowing us to keep improving content programming without budgetary constraint," said mSpot co-founder/CEO Daren Tsui. "It marks mSpot's initial move into ad supported content, which allows us to provide our listeners with more options, while also providing mSpot an additional revenue stream."
mSpot Radio offers over 200 channels of programming from CBS Radio, Clear Channel, Fox Sports, Marketwatch, NPR and Radio Disney. The service also includes more than 100 live major market radio outlets.
