Struble Cites Importance of AM/FM Portable Devices
RADIO ONLINE | , , |
In his latest web column, iBiquity Digital President/CEO Bob Struble calls on the radio industry to aggressively focus its efforts on penetrating the portables segment -- and he's not talking transistor radio. Struble identifies major competition in the form of MP3 players, mobile phones and PNDs to incite immediate change in radio's entrance in the portable market.
Solid progress (which has yielded results) has been made by way of the Best Buy's Insignia Portable and Microsoft's Zune HD. "Together, the radio industry can extend the medium's reach," said Struble. "If this dramatic trend is not addressed, radio risks becoming a second class citizen."
Struble's complete comments and blog can be found at www.ibiquity.com.
