Arbitron, Spanish Broadcasting Set For Mediation

Spanish Broadcasting System Chief Revenue Officer Frank Flores says the Spanish-language broadcaster will go into mediation with Arbitron, a move that both companies hopes will resolve their disputes. John Feerick, a former dean of Fordham Law School, is appointed as mediator. The troubles started when Arbitron sued SBS in February after it stopped encoding for PPM.
Before that, Arbitron suspended delivery of ratings data to SBS saying that Entravision's had not paid them. A court order forced SBS to resume encoding, but not before issuing a statement that Arbitron "has not lived up to their contractual obligation to deliver reliable and accurate ratings."
